Conversation Kit: Friends, Colleagues, and Neighbors
One way to participate in the National Day of Racial Healing is to invite friends, family, colleagues and neighbors to a virtual or live gathering to start a conversation. Many people would like to talk about the impact of racism and the need for racial justice and racial healing, but don’t know where to start. Some worry that others won’t understand their points of view or what they say might be offensive to others.
This guide can help you begin to have a conversation, despite these very real challenges. Recognizing that talking about racism can be challenging; your goals should be to commit to creating a safe space for people to be authentic and vulnerable, and to pave the way for future conversations.
Solidarity Heals
is a cross sector, community-driven process to plan for and bring about transformational and sustainable change and to address the historic and contemporary effects of racism.
